Judith Rose Lear, veteran aviation volunteer and enthusiast, formerly of Falcon Aviation Services, and
Thomas N. Stevens, CFI, AP, IA, have formed a full service aircraft sales and service company with offices
conveniently located in the Main Terminal Building of Hampton Roads Executive Airport
(KPVG).
Together, Tom and Judy have over 52 years of aviation, business ownership, and marketing experience. Lear Stevens Aviation Services, Inc., provides the Hampton Roads community fixed wing, single and multi engine national aircraft advertising and sales, assistance in financing and insurance, flight training, aircraft management, annuals, pre-buy inspections, and aircraft delivery services. Judy's father, a Chemical Weapons Officer during WW II, was home based with a P38 USAAF squadron in the Aleutian Islands. Tom's father was also WW11 active duty USN, who flew and maintained a variety of aircraft during his career military service. A. M. "Steve" Stevens, former owner operator of South Norfolk Airport Services, went on to build a family of five boys, all professional or private pilots. Mr. Stevens fostered a career in aviation that few pilots enjoy. He has recently been nominated for the Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame. Serving as VP of LSAS INC., and co-owner of Curtis Eads' Flight Center CFI, MEI, AP and IA, Tom Steven's career spans many years of aviation. His experience includes 13 years with US Air, and President and CEO in a previous partnership with Aerodyne Corporation, an FAA Certified Maintenance Facility, also based out of Hampton Roads Executive Airport. Tom is qualified to fly a variety of aircraft, and has over 15,000 hours of time in the air including add-on endorsements in Tail Wheel Instruction, Sea Plane Instruction, aerobatics and air show flying. Serving as President of LSAS INC., and co-owner of the Curtis Eads' Flight Center, a WW11 military aircraft historian and published author, Judy's aviation experience includes extensive research on the "Wooden Wonder," the de Havilland Mosquito that served in all four RAF Commands from 1942 - 1965. The plane was utilized as a Fighter, Bomber, Reconnaissance and Path Finder throughout WW11, and could carry a bomb load that rivaled many US and UK bombers of the day. Judy and Tom's dream is to build a scaled down, airworthy replica of the Mossie Bomber. |
